Supervisor Housekeeping buy in US, Free Classifieds Ads

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Nutrition Services, the Supervisor, Housekeeping assists with supervision of housekeeping activities, maintains quality standards and performs some housekeeping duties as needed. The supervisor is also responsible for patient satisfaction and operating within an assigned budget.

  • Assists in managing work activities of Housekeeping Aides. Trains, orients, and assigns work. Evaluates performance and issues discipline. Participates in the interview process.
  • In conjunction with the Manager , develops department budget
  • Evaluates, revises and develops all new Standard Operating Procedures and policies and procedures for department.
  • Develops and monitors yearly goals for the department related to Press Ganey patient satisfaction.
  • Establishes department work routines and work flow patterns in order to provide appropriate cleaning and laundry services promptly and keep up with the demand. Plans employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage of all areas within the department and approves payroll
  • Ensures the quality, safety and appropriateness of the department and department activities. This includes development and monitoring of a quality control program.
  • Ensures competency of staff by monitoring skills and providing education as needed. Conducts monthly in-service training and staff meetings for Housekeeping staff.
  • Acts on all customer complaints, suggestions or requests in a timely manner.
  • Performs purchasing functions of the department. Inventories and orders supplies and equipment.
  • The Supervisor works in the housekeeping staffing pattern up to 20 hours per week if needed.
  • Serves as member of the Environment of Care Committee and participates as member of management team during emergency management drills.
  • Covers Dietary Department for all management issues when manager is absent.
  • Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
  • Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.

Education:

  • High school graduate or the equivalent required.

Certifications:

  • None required

Complexity of Work:

  • Ability to perform the duties of the Housekeeping Aide position. Demonstrated communication skills both verbal and in writing. Ability to deal with patients, staff, co-workers and the public in a proactive manner. Knowledge of institutional housekeeping procedures.

Work Experience:

  • Three years housekeeping experience. prefer experience in a hospital setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
